Task: Graphic Designer & Publishing Specialist for E-Publication Development
- Background
The Coalition to Stop Violence Against Women is finalizing a comprehensive report titled “210: Results of the comprehensive assessment” To ensure the report is visually engaging, accessible, and professionally designed for both digital and print formats, we seek a highly skilled Graphic Designer & Publishing Specialist to develop the final report into an e-publication with high-quality infographics and illustrations.
- Objective
The selected specialist will be responsible for designing a visually appealing, easy-to-navigate e-publication, integrating infographics, data visualizations, and a layout optimized for both digital and print publication.
- Scope of Work
The Graphic Designer & Publishing Specialist will be expected to:
- Visual Identity & Layout Design:
- Develop a cohesive visual style for the report, ensuring consistency with the Coalition’s branding and accessibility guidelines.
- Design an engaging, structured layout that enhances readability and user experience.
- Infographics & Data Visualization:
- Transform key findings, statistics, and research insights into clear, visually compelling infographics.
- Design data-driven graphics to illustrate complex trends in gender-based violence support services.
- Illustrations & Visual Enhancements:
- Incorporate relevant custom illustrations to complement the report’s content.
- Use meaningful visuals to enhance storytelling and engagement.
- E-Publication Optimization & Interactive Features:
- Format the final publication for digital use (PDF, EPUB, interactive PDF if needed).
- Ensure mobile-friendly and print-ready formatting with proper resolution and typography.
- Finalization & Printing Preparation:
- Conduct quality checks and proofreading for design consistency before submission.
- Prepare a print-ready version with appropriate color profiles and bleed settings.
- Deliverables
- Final designed e-publication (PDF & EPUB formats).
- Print-ready version (high-resolution PDF).
- Editable design files (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or relevant formats).
- Infographics & illustrations provided as standalone assets for future use.
- Timeline & Deadlines
- Kick-off Meeting: March 22, 2025
- Initial Design Concept Submission: March 30, 2025
- First Draft of the Full Report Design: April 10, 2025
- Finalized E-Publication & Print-Ready Version: April 20, 2025
- Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in publication design, infographics, and data visualization.
- Expertise in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and/or other relevant design software.
- Experience in designing reports, research publications, or similar documents.
- Strong understanding of accessibility, readability, and user experience in digital publications.
