Paid Internship for Interviewer

As an Interviewer Intern, you will play a pivotal role in the OxYGen-funded project titled “Working towards Comprehensive Policies for Violence-Free Life for Women and Girls.” The primary objective of the project is to design and conduct a comprehensive survey aimed at gathering data on the accessibility and effectiveness of support services, shelters, helplines, and legal measures for women and girls as a preventive measure against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in Armenia.Your responsibilities will include conducting interviews as per established protocols, engaging with respondents to gather accurate and comprehensive data, and recording survey responses diligently. The insights gathered from the survey will provide valuable information on the availability and awareness of support services and legal measures for victims of violence against women within the surveyed population. Overall, this role presents an opportunity to make a tangible impact by contributing to the enhancement of support systems and policies for women and girls affected by GBV in Armenia. Your dedication and efforts will contribute significantly to advancing the cause of gender equality and creating a safer environment for women and girls.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct surveys following established protocols and scripts.
  • Contact a 20-minute survey in person with 139 women in Yerevan and/or 106 women in Spitak to gather responses.
  • Explain survey objectives and procedures clearly to participants.
  • Record accurate and complete responses in survey databases or forms.
  • Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards are maintained throughout the survey process.
  • Handle participant inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Adhere to survey timelines and quotas, meeting or exceeding productivity goals.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and improve survey processes.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance survey interviewing skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of survey activities and outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional ongoing education or training in survey research is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage respondents effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in recording survey responses.
  • Ability to follow survey protocols and adhere to ethical guidelines.
  • Comfortable using computers and survey software; proficiency in data entry is desirable.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting participant privacy.
