Vacancy announcement for monitoring and evaluation Officer

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective monitoring and evaluation of the UN Women funded UNTF project on Transforming the Domestic Violence Agenda in Armenia. This position will involve collecting, analyzing, and reporting data in the UNTF operated GMS portal to measure the project’s progress, outcomes, and impact. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans for the project, in line with the organization’s objectives and donor requirements.
  • Design data collection tools, methodologies, and frameworks to gather relevant information on project activities and outcomes.
  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to project sites to assess progress, identify challenges, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to track project performance indicators and measure impact.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on project monitoring and evaluation findings, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with project staff and stakeholders to ensure data quality, accuracy, and relevance.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building support to project staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation methodologies and best practices.
  • Participate in project review meetings, workshops, and evaluations to share findings and contribute to learning and knowledge-sharing efforts.

Candidate requirements

An effective Monitoring and Evaluations Officer should possess a diverse set of skills to promote the agenda of preventing and combating GBV. The qualifications and some of the key skills sought for this assignment are:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Social Sciences, Statistics, or Monitoring and Evaluation.
  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the NGO sector.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting using software such as Excel, SPSS, or other statistical packages.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
  • Fluency in Armenian and English.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and values.
