Feminist platform’s announcement for International Women’s Day events.
Come and join us as we celebrate International Women’s Rights Day on March 8th with a march and a festival. The title of the march for this year is “Women are different: Celebrating different ways of being a woman” If you are married or not married; young or old; local or international; disabled or able-bodied; heterosexual or homosexual ; everyone, please come on our march through Yerevan and our festival of creative activities and music performances at Swan Lake.
At 1 o’clock we will meet at Isahakyan monument (close to metro Yeritasardakan), and proceed from there on a march down Abovyan Street to Republic Square to Northern Avenue. The march will conclude at Swan Lake at around 2:30pm, where there will be a huge variety of different corners which reflect the diversity of women’s activities – capoeira, yoga, painting, knitting and dance – which you can take part in. This will be accompanied a music festival of artists performing their own songs and cover versions as well as female writers reading their poems: you can bring your instruments as well as writings and join your voices with ours.
In the evening please join us for the finale of the day, a concert celebrating women’s musical achievements at AEON anti-cafe at 7pm (the event is organized due tue AEON’s and Feminist platform’s cooperation).
